The British Heart Foundation is looking at starting a new fundraising group for the BHF in the Maidstone area.
We are a national charity but heart disease affects us all.
For example across Kent ;- Around 4,500 people die every year from cardiovascular disease, nearly 2,000 people die every year from coronary heart disease and around 180,000 people are living with cardiovascular disease in Kent,
There are 30 Heartstart groups in Kent and 52 community groups and schools using our Call Push Rescue kits to teach CPR. There are 235 defibrillators in Kent We have 17 standard shops and 7 furniture and electrical stores across Kent.
We fund research at Kent University looking at how errors in our genes can affect heart muscle and have 27 healthcare professionals working in Kent.
We can only continue to provide support for research and prevention of heart disease with the help of our supporters and volunteers. To have a local fundraising group in Maidstone would mean we can help spread the work of the BHF even wider in the local community.
